In addition to regular religious instruction, students also receive three of the Catholic sacraments while at St. Thomas School. Sacrament preparation typically begins in 2nd grade, when students receive both First Reconciliation and First Communion. The sacrament of First Reconciliation helps students understand forgiveness and how to have an open relationship with God. First Communion prepares students to participate in one of the most important parts of Catholicism—the Holy Eucharist. As students become more fully engaged in their faith development, they receive the sacrament of Confirmation in 8th grade. This sacrament is given to individuals continuing their devotion to the Catholic faith.
St. Thomas welcomes people who are not of the Catholic Tradition. In the classrooms, the Catholic faith is taught daily. Students participate in the class, but are not expected to do more than class participation.
