John Lancaster Spalding Scholarship Endowment Fund
The John Lancaster Spalding Scholarship is a tuition assistance scholarship granted through the Catholic Diocese of Peoria ROOTED IN FAITH Campaign, named in honor of Archbishop Spalding, the first Bishop of Peoria. It is available for students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade in any Catholic school located in the Diocese of Peoria whose families are members of a Catholic parish in the diocese. All grants will be based on financial need objectively assessed.
Information about the scholarship and application materials may be obtained from the Diocesan website www.cdop.org, under Catholic Education then under Financial Assistance. You will find a detailed Protocols and Procedures checklist for all necessary requirements to be eligible for an award.
Parents must apply online every year it is being requested at: online.factsmgt.com/aid. Scholarships are only for one school year and families must re-apply for consideration each year.
Empower Illinois
Another scholarship opportunity is available from the Illinois Invest in Kids Act legislation. Students may be eligible for up to 100% of tuition and fees under a new program for Tax Credit Scholarships (TCS). Details on how to apply and who qualifies can be found at www.empowerillinois.org. Students who receive a full or partial TCS are ineligible to receive a Spalding award, and any award previously granted will be rescinded.
