St. Thomas offers a progressive, objective-based curriculum which stimulates and prepares students for success in each grade level, Pre-3 through 8th grade. The National Common Core Standards are followed and curriculum reviews are placed on a rotation cycle. On going teacher in-service is a regular part of our annual training to ensure that we are stair stepping our curriculum appropriately.
Religious studies are a core component of all levels as well as an exposure to fine arts, foreign language, and service opportunities which blend academic learning with real-life situations. St. Thomas offers study units relevant to core subjects. The all-school thematic units present each student with opportunities to contribute personally; through team-work and grade to grade sharing, St. Thomas students can feel and see success in their contribution to the final results presented as an open house event for the school, parish, and community.
Through the use of RenWeb (web-based school management system), administrators, faculty, and parents can communicate and team on a day-to-day basis regarding academic assignments, student progress, behavior issues, and updated report card status. St. Thomas takes pride in creating progressive standards and objectives for its students; exposure to relevant studies in local, national, and international events balanced with virtue-based traditional values help to complete a rich academic experience at St. Thomas the Apostle School.
