What are our school hours?

What is our average class size?

Our average class size is 19.

Our maximum students per class in preschool is 20 students.

Our maximum students per class in kindergarten is 25 students.

Are there opportunities for tuition assistance?

Do we offer enrichment opportunities?

St. Thomas offers the C.O.M.E.T. (Challenge Our Minds, Expand Thinking) Enrichment program twice a week at every grade level. The program is offered to students who score at the 90th percentile or above on MAP and standardized tests.

How does St. Thomas meet the needs of students with a learning disability or challenge?

St. Thomas has two full time resource/gifted teachers on staff. These teachers oversee and assist all students with academic challenges and work with their classroom teachers to meet their individual needs. If determined necessary, students may go through a battery of academic tests by a licensed psychologist via Seapco.  Resource teachers, in cooperation with the administration, help create specific  service plans to better meet the needs of a student with a mild learning disability.  St. Thomas is equipped to support some emotional and social disorders, as well.  Academic support is offered in small group settings.

What technology do we have available at our school?

Every grade level classroom is equipped with an interactive smartboard and 4-5 classroom computers. Sets of COW’s (Computers on Wheels) may be checked out by classroom teachers for full group instruction. In the fall of 2017, all fifth and sixth grades students will transition to a 1:1 program.  By the FAll of 2019 all 5-8 grade students will be 1:1 with technolgy.  Please click here to learn more.

Do we offer foreign language?

Spanish is offered once a week to K-4 graders and twice a week to 5-8 graders. To learn more about our Spanish program click here.

PreCare and AfterCare Available?

Our PreCare begins at 7:00 am for all PreK-8 grade students.  Our AfterCare is in session from 3:30 - 5:30pm.  While attending AfterCare, children are provided a drink and a snack.  Students may work on homework, play in the gym, or play with a variety of toys, puzzles, and crafts in the cafeteria.

Do we have a choir/band program?

Yes, choir is offered to 3-8 graders and band is offered to 5-8 graders. Please click here for more information.

What specials do my children attend on a weekly basis?

All St. Thomas students attend the following classes on a weekly basis: Art, Physical Education, Spanish, and Music (K-6 grade). Character Education (5-8 Grade)/Anti-Bullying Classes (3-4 Grade) and our Advisory Program (7-8 Grade) are offered in 6-8 week sessions.

Does St. Thomas offer bus service?

Yes, St. Thomas has a bus that runs to North Peoria and Dunlap. Please contact the school office to gather more information on our specific route.
